Valentine's Day

Well Valentine's Day was a mass of events that eventually led me to being quite happy at the end of the day.

It started off with a boy who remains my friend. I told him I liked him and strangely enough it wasn't a big deal. I mean, I've never been in a situation where a guy I like told me he just wanted to be friends and it was still a really good thing. I guess the years have taught me to value friendship and keep it in your life. I can't believe the woman I've become. Old me probably would've been devastated, cried a lot, and then stopped being friends with that boy. This time the whole thing was just about being honest and happy with what I have. I mean I still cried a little but it was more about me being lonely then not being with this boy. I've never been this content with living in the moment and just being happy and content to be me!

After that I spent most of the day playing the piano and hanging out with Jessica. Then Jess and I went out with four other girls to dinner and Step Up 2, which was amazing!! Spent the rest of the night talking to Jessica and Sadie about life and love, and then I fell asleep admiting to myself it had actually been a really good day!

So I guess here's to being pleasantly suprised (or suplised as I like to call it). Who knew life could be so fun!

February Song

So it's another February. Yes, that wonderful month where suddenly you need to be with someone, cards and candy take over your budget, and all you see is naked babies and couples everywhere you go. LAME!!!

So, what does a single girl of the 21st Century have to say about this? Well as a mormon girl who should have been married by now or have gone on a mission, I would like to say that people need to be concerned with themselves more then my love life. Honestly, since when does having a boyfriend have to do with who you are?

That being said, lonliness is inevitable. I would love a guy. I would love to meet the guy who makes me smile even when I don't want to. A guy who knows me so well that he knows exactly what I'm thinking just by the way I look and what mood I'm in. I want a boy who will rub my back anytime I ask and who likes to cuddle. I want a guy with prince charming features who will sing me to sleep, and who doesn't back down or step away when I start to cry. Does such a boy exist? Who knows. Maybe he's out there. Maybe he's out of my league.

For now I think I'll just stick to what I know best, which is me. A very smart boy once told me I should be my best self and let the rest fall into place. Of course this boy has girls flocking all over him. ;) Seriously though, I think the only way I'll ever find anyone is to know exactly who I am and wait for a guy who likes what I have to offer. Who knows, maybe it will happen. Maybe it wont. At this point, my life is not about waiting for some guy to come and make things happen. So here's to being me and learning to love it!
